WETHERSFIELD - The Wethersfield High School Boys Track Team can now boast it has a national championship, along with its many achievements, thanks to four seniors who last month went down to New Bern, North Carolina and finished in the top spot of the 800 meter sprint medley relay at the New Balance Nationals Track Meet.
Outgoing Eagle seniors Jaequan Brown (100-meter 1st leg), Chris Manousos (100-meter 2nd leg), Patrick Hurley (200-meter 3rd leg), and Elijah Young (400-meter anchor) posted the fastest time of 1:30.80, highlighted by a 47.00 anchor leg run by Young in the 400-meter.
"They've had a phenomenal four years and what a great way to cap off a four-year career of track and field here at Wethersfield,” said Head Coach Jeff Weber.
