TOLLAND - In mid-May, a new playground in Tolland, called Adam's Adventure, opened its gate to the public for the first time.
Alison Knybel was moved by what she saw: "Hordes and hordes of children just screaming and laughing — that made the past six years totally worth it."
There were challenging days before the grand opening, many of them spent finding land, forming a non-profit, making committees and raising $300,000 in a difficult economic climate. But the state-of-the-art playground — born from community spirit and the friendship of two Tolland moms — is now a reality, giving kids of all abilities, grandparents, and even veterans who've returned from overseas, an experience that's fun, safe and therapeutic.
