NEW FAIRFIELD — The swimming area at Squantz Pond state park has been reopened after being closed Thursday due to contamination.
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced the reopening.
The DEEP regularly tests the water of state swimming areas for various forms of bacteria that indicate the presence of contamination that can be dangerous for swimmers.
All other state parks were listed as open.
Squantz Pond is located 10 miles north of Danbury.
