ROCKY HILL - Foodie Friday has found an edgy eatery with a beach feel along the Connecticut River.
Hidden away in Rocky Hill, Shad Row serves up a mixed menu filled with creative options.
"We have a pulled pork Cubano sandwich, lobster rolls, whole belly clam roll, lobster mac and cheese, swordfish and even filet mignon, you name it we have it," said Jenna Cavalieri.
Cavalieri co owns this unique seasonal joint with her Aunt Kathy, who says the imaginative fare on the open air deck with vibrant decor is a little slice of paradise without having to travel.
"It is exactly like being on vacation," said co-owner Kathy Denisiewicz. "Sipping a cocktail, watching the jet skiers go by, ya know, watching the ferry go back and forth."
While dining off an eclectic menu, you have a front row view of the oldest continuously running ferry between Rocky Hill and South Glastonbury which is just one of the things that Jenna says separates Shad Row from the rest.
"You can bring your own booze, bring your own chairs and tables and set up by the water, we're dog friendly, there's toys by the river for the kids, it's welcoming to everybody, every age shape and size," said Cavalieri
