NEW HAVEN--Cue up the pomp and circumstance...again!
Hillhouse High School in New Haven held a second graduation ceremony on Friday night. While that may seem odd since the grads finished up school nearly month ago, it isn't: many parents were locked out of the first ceremony.
Due to space constraints and fire hazards, more than 200 family members who had tickets to attend graduation were shut out.
"Something so important as graduating from high school after 12 years of long studying, of struggles, of challenges, but, also very happy moments, being able to just wrap all of that and see that child actually accomplish all of that is huge," said Sarah Derbala, the sister of a graduate.
In all, more than 300 students were in the graduating class.
