HARTFORD -- Since Thursday's shooting in Dallas, Texas that killed 5 police officers, small acts of kindness across the state have made a huge impact on law enforcement in Connecticut.

From Hartford to Norwalk, South Windsor to West Haven, Middletown to Orange, food and gifts have been delivered to police stations with messages of thanks and encouragement.

"Thank you to the Eagles Club and Sweet Harmony for your gifts We love them!" The Middletown Police Department wrote on Facebook. They shared a picture of a cake, and basket of sports drinks with a note that said "Thank you for your service and commitment to our community!! Have a safe day!!"

Dozens of other local police departments, including state police, have posted on social media thanking people for the gifts and support.

Hartford Police even showed up and experienced an emotional moment with some residents, which Facebook Page Lorna's Corner, a local online video production company.

On Friday, about two dozen people showed up at the Wallingford Police Department bringing flowers, baked goods, and hugs.
