Justice for Connie

ELLINGTON — It’s been more than six months since Ellington mother Connie Dabate was murdered in her own home.

There is still nothing new to report in her case and no named suspectsOfficial details in the case also remain limited.

Now, Connie’s cousin Danielle setup a t-shirt fundraiser to keep her memory alive. The proceeds will go to the RJ & Connor Fund, a fund setup to help Connie’s two children.  The shirts say #justiceforconnie.

“Thank you for helping support the memory of my cousin Connie and to help us get a conviction in her case,” the fundraising page says. “Our hope is that her killer will be charged for this horrific crime which took a loving mother away from her boys. Those of you who knew her know that she was kind, supportive and always willing to lend a helping hand in anyway she could. She always had a smile on her face no matter how she was feeling. She was an active member of the YMCA and enjoyed spending quality time with her boys, parents, siblings, nephews, cousins and friends.”

A burglary alarm on December 23 brought police to the house on Birchview Drive; officers encountered smoke and then found Dabate’s husband, Rick, injured. He told police it was a home invasion robbery. Shortly after Connie was found dead, shot in the stomach and head.

Right after the crime, detectives claimed there was no threat to the public, but have refused to say who is responsible. Rick and his two children still live at their home.

State Police last told FOX 61 there were no updates on the case.
