BRIDGEPORT — One person is dead after an afternoon accident on I-95 North in Bridgeport Sunday.
A 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Shameal Jackson was traveling on I-95 around 5:30 p.m. in the far right lane heading north near exit 29 in Bridgeport.
A second vehicle approached in the center-right lane. The unidentified operator changed lanes, crossing into Jackson’s path.
The front right quarter of the vehicle then struck Jackson’s left rear door causing Jackson’s SUV to skid to the left sideways the highway hitting the jersey barrier, causing extensive damage to the vehicle and guard rail.
Jackson was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
No other injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
Shameal Jackson lived in Bridgeport.
No charges have been filed yet in the accident.
