BRIDGEPORT  — A jury has deadlocked in the trial of man accused in a shooting spree last summer that killed a Connecticut man and left eight people injured in Bridgeport.

The Connecticut Post reports that a judge on Monday ordered the Superior Court jury to reconvene deliberations Tuesday in the case against 24-year-old Jamal Hamilton.

Hamilton is charged with murder and first-degree assault in the June 2015 shooting that killed 37-year-old Savonie McNeil of Shelton.

Police say two men opened fire on a group of people hanging out in the parking lot of the Trumbull Gardens complex. Among the injured was a grandmother taking a shower in her nearby home.

Hamilton’s attorney argued that the state’s key witnesses, including a woman who said she saw Hamilton fire shots, weren’t credible.
