AGAWAM - 'Pokemon GO' players are in for a special weekend of deals around the region as businesses try to cash in on the mobile phone gaming phenomenon.
All weekend long, Six Flags New England will be inviting guests to “Catch’em All” at the Coaster Capital of New England. Each day at Splashwater Falls there will be a huge recharge station and party zone, where guests can charge their device, play games, get prizes, and even enter in a raffle to win a four-foot tall giant Pikachu.
“We are known for our incredible coasters and ride technology here at Six Flags New England. Incorporating Pokémon Go is just another example of how the Coaster Capital of New England is embracing new technology and experiences for our guests. Earlier this summer our park launched Superman the Ride Virtual Reality Coaster, and now we are proud to showcase an event based around Augmented Reality in the newest gaming craze, Pokémon Go,” said Communications Manager, Jennifer McGrath.
The property will also offer specialty Pokémon fudge and discounts for event-goers. Guests are encouraged to wear their team color, and show their support for Team Mystic, Team Valor or Team Instinct. Lastly, guests will not want to miss out on the park’s epic daily lure-a-thon as they drop hundreds of lures throughout the property to attract unique Pokémon.
Meanwhile at Connecticut Sweet Frog locations, 'GO' players can receive a special discount of up to 30 percent off their purchase if they display the game and their 'experience points' level.
