MONTVILLE--A person was rescued from his car after driving into Oxoboxo Lake Friday evening, but his injuries are unknown.
Around 6:30 pm. a GMC pick-up truck drove off Old Colchester Road, over a driveway that was not his, and kept going onto a nearby boat launch dock. He continued into the water, coming to a rest about 70 feet offshore.
A private boat saw the incident and pulled the sole occupant, the driver, out of the fully-submerged car.
Emergency officials spent about four hours fishing the car out of the water.
The driver was taken to Backus Hospital, but the extent of his injuries is unknown. It's also not known what caused him to drive off the road.
