BALDWIN, Ga. — A pit bull was stabbed five times after defending a woman from an attacker and almost left for dead, according to WPIX.
The woman was being attacked when the stray dog jumped between her and the man who was attacking her. The man then stabbed the dog several times, according to a YouCaring fundraising page created for the dog.
After being stabbed, the dog was left for dead. But the two officers who responded couldn’t leave the dog without care.
They took the dog to a veterinarian’s office where he received medical treatment.
One of the officer’s wives has created a fundraising page to help place Hero the pit bull into a loving home. The officers named the dog Hero due to his courageous act.
“Lets get this hero the treatment and life he deserves,” reads the fundraising page.
