HARTFORD — The primaries for local house and senate elections are next week, August 9.
If you are a new voter or unaffiliated and want to vote, you must register by noon on Monday, August 8.
These are closed primaries, meaning you must be a registered republican or democrat to participate.
“Local elections are arguably when the voters have the greatest impact,” said Secretary of the State Denise Merrill. “If there is a primary in your town, please don’t miss the opportunity to choose who will represent your party on the ballot in November.”
