Local high school students travel to China for global exchange program

HARTFORD --  Three dozen high school students from Connecticut and Shanghai, China are participating in an international exchange program next week.

The program is sponsored by Junior Achievement Global Connection and United Technologies Corp.

Thomas Neal,  a 17-year-old senior at Mark T. Sheehan High School in Wallingford and  Dr. Sal Menzo, Superintendent of Wallingford Schools joined FOX 61 Good Day Connecticut to talk about the program.

In the fourth year of the program, the students will learn about American and Chinese business, entrepreneurism, global trade and leadership.

Starting  August 8, at Fudan University, students will take part in a week of workshops, lectures, seminars and workshops, including guest speakers from United Technologies, Fudan faculty and other business leaders.

Students will also visit various facilities of United Technologies’ entities in China.
