MOLINE, Illinois – John Deere has recalled more than 5,000 lawn and garden tractors due to a laceration risk.
According to their website, the reverse implement option can fail, which poses a laceration risk.
The RIO is a safety system that shuts off power to the mower blades when the machine is placed into reverse.
About 5,400 units are being recalled, with 166 of those sold in Canada.
The recall includes the following models: X710, X730, X734, X738, and X739 lawn and garden tractors with serial numbers beginning with 1M0X.
