HARTFORD - U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty (D) Connecticut talks with Al and Jenn about topics that include renewed efforts to pass gun control measures, trips to Hawaii to review US Navy exercises, and Afghanistan to receive an update on the fight against the Taliban, and a challenge for reelection by Republican Clay Cope.
"We are seeing the American people rise up,” Congresswoman Esty told a crowd at the UConn Health Center in Farmington in June, where she stood with other elected leaders, advocates and those affected by gun violence to push for stronger gun laws. June's "Day of Action" event was a strong showing of support from very different communities, all impacted by gun violence.
