LEDYARD – A 4-year-old boy drowned in Ledyard on Saturday evening, according to the Ledyard Police Department.
Police said the drowning happened at a home in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard just before 8 p.m.
Police said the boy was pulled from an inground pool and that CPR had been started when they arrived. Emergency Medical Services took over patient care and the boy was taken to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London where he was pronounced dead about an hour after the ambulance arrived.
Ledyard Police, Gales Ferry Fire Department and Ledyard Ambulance responded to the scene.
The Ledyard Police Department is currently investigating this case.
The child’s identity has not been released.
