SOUTHBURY -- Local police are seeking the public's help in identifying two women they say made a large cosmetics theft on Wednesday.

Investigators were alerted to a larceny incident at Walgreens, 370 Main Street, Southbury, on Wednesday afternoon. Store employees called 9-1-1 after discovering that a display case had been completely ransacked of beauty products.

Police gained access to the store's video surveillance system and located a pair of unidentified individuals committing the theft.

The suspects, described as two black females, were seen stuffing $1400 worth of cosmetics into a tote bag before walking out of the store and fleeing in a black SUV.

Anyone with information on either suspect's identity is asked to call Southbury detective Robert Bette at (203) 264-5912.
