NEW LONDON — New London Police Department received a call around 8:16 p.m. Friday Night from the Shanghai Garden Restaurant on Broad Street, reporting a robbery of one of their employees during a food delivery.
The incident was believed to have occurred around 8:00 p.m. in the area of Bishop Court.
Food and a cellphone were taken from the victim. The victim said they were robbed the three or four Hispanic or African American men of various sizes.
Although the victim did not report a weapon being used, they were struck multiple times I the head and face area by the suspects. Their injuries were non-life threatening but they did received medical treatment afterwards.
The area was searched for evidence and witnesses by officers, and leads are being followed.
