HARTFORD - Connecticut housing officials said they are on track to end “chronic homelessness” by the end of the year. “Chronic homelessness” is described as impacting those with severely disabling conditions who have been homeless for more than a year. Make no mistake, despite this statewide initiative launched two years ago , a homeless population will remain in Connecticut.

In January, 40 Connecticut providers and nine  state and federal partners joined Governor Dannel Malloy in signing on to Zero:2016, but can they really take credit for ending “chronic homelessness?”

Stan asks Brian Baker, the assistant director of the South Park Inn, which has been assisting the homeless for 34 years.
