BRIDGEPORT – Police are investigating after a victim was found dead.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene in front of 21 Wood Terrace at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon after receiving 911 reports of gunfire.

Shane Slinksky, 18, of Stamford, was found shot and taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Postmortem examiners discovered that two bullets had struck the victim’s head before he died.

Detectives have not identified a suspect or definitive motive for the killing, but are actively pursuing several leads.

Slinksky has no obvious family or friends in Bridgeport so investigation efforts are being focused on why he may have been in the city at the time.

No shell casings were found in or around the immediate scene. Several witnesses reported hearing gunshots echoing from nearby.

Detectives are still trying to locate anyone who may have seen the shooting take place.

Anyone with information on this murder mystery is urged to contact Bridgeport Police at (203) 576-TIPS.
