CROMWELL — A 65-year-old woman crashed into a Friendly’s restaurant Wednesday morning.
Crews were called to the Friendly’s at 48 Berlin Road, and said Arlene Ericksen, 65, of Cromwell, had driven into the building, according to police.
Police said she had pressed the accelerator pedal by mistake, driving into west side of the building, hitting a brick exterior wall causing damage in the kitchen area.
There were no reported injuries to either the driver or the people in the building.
The building inspector and health inspector both responded to the scene. They determined that due to structural damage, Friendly’s is closed for business until repairs can be made.
