SALEM —  Detectives are investigating if several fires at a former pheasant farm were set, but first firefighters are putting out the flames from a second fire at the farm in the same day.

State Police Detectives from Eastern District Major Crime are investigating four separate fires that occurred at the Bordeau’s Pheasant Farm located at 343 Old Colchester Rd. in Salem.

The first fire happened August 24 at about 1:50 p.m. The second happened August 30 at  2:50 p.m. One of the buildings on the now abandoned farm was destroyed.

Then on Wednesday morning around 11:15 a.m. another fire broke out, but no one was hurt. Later in the evening yet another fire flamed up.

State Police detectives from the Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit (FEIU) were called by the Salem resident state trooper to assist in the investigation, and are back at the scene Wednesday evening.

Anyone with information regarding these fires is asked to call Detective Fratellenico at 860-465-5456, the confidential crime tip hotline at 860-465-5469, or text TIP711 with the information to 274637. All calls will be kept confidential.
