AGAWAM, Mass. -- The Joker returns! Not as Batman's nemesis, but as a state of the art "4-D" roller coaster.
Six Flags New England will add The Joker: 4D Free Fly Coaster for next season. The coaster is the thirteenth roller coaster in the park that's just over the border in Agawam, Massachusetts.
The new ride is being called a free-fly coaster, where the riders are seated in wings with nothing around them. The ride will feature a 120-foot hill, and riders will flip head-over-heels from four to eight times along the weightless, tumbling journey that includes a twisting track frame and two vertical free falls.
The coaster will be in the southern part of the park.
The park introduced a virtual reality coaster in the spring which allows riders to wear Samsung Gear VR headsets to customize their ride experience.
