HARTFORD -- As preparations are made for the three-day weekend, and unofficial end to summer, severe weather could change plans for some.

Officials estimate 35 million people are expected to travel across the country this Labor Day weekend and most of them are traveling by car.

People traveling by air may face delays due to Tropical Storm Hermine that could delay planes along the east coast. You can check the airlines policy on delays and cancellations here.

Connecticut State Troopers are reminding drivers to expect heavy traffic, use caution, allow extra time to get where they are going, don’t text and drive, set GPS destinations prior to traveling, and use a hands-free device .

Troopers will be concentrating their enforcement efforts on drunk driving, speeding, seatbelt violations, and distracted driving during the entire Labor Day Weekend.
