NEWTOWN–A man has been arrested two weeks after threatening the new Sandy Hook Elementary School as students attended their first day.

On August 15 the Sandy Hook main office got a call from someone asking when the first day was. When he was told it was August 29, he made a threat for that day.

School administrators called police, and found the number had originated form a nearby town. Through some investigating by the school’s resource officer, it was determined that the caller was Pierre Beauvil.

Police arrested Beauvil at 2 p.m. on September 2.

Now, police and other agencies are investigating further because they believe Beauvil may be responsible for previous school threats.

For now, Beauvil is charged with threatening in the first degree, harassment in the second degree and breach of peace. Bond was set at $150,000.
