HARTFORD – The plight of Hartford’s quest to build a new downtown minor league baseball stadium has certainly captured the state's attention. Almost from the day of the groundbreaking, there has been one embarrassing miscue after another. The mostly completed project is currently in limbo, snared in litigation, with plenty of questions lingering about increasing costs and an opening date. Late last month, Eastern League President Joe McEacham issued an ultimatum Thursday, saying construction delays have already forced the team to play the entire 2016 season on the road and the league won't risk that for 2017.
