Coast Guard rescues 3 from capsized catamaran near New London
NEW YORK — The Coast Guard said they rescued three people from a capsized vessel near Bartlett Reef Sunday afternoon.
At around 4:30 p.m., the Coast Guard got a call from a crew member aboard the motor vessel Mary Ellen reporting an 18-foot capsized catamaran with three people in the water near Bartlett Reef.
A Coast Guard crew arrived and found two men and a woman wearing life jackets and clinging to the capsized catamaran. All three were rescued from the water with no injuries.
The capsized vessel was towed to Pleasure Beach in New London and the three people were safely taken to a nearby dock.
