BRISTOL — A man was seriously injured late Tuesday morning after his own truck rolled into him.

The accident happened in the parking lot of Bristol Hospital just before 11:30 a.m., Police Lt. Richard Guerrera said.

Police said a 50-year-old man fell out of his truck and then was run over by it, seriously injuring his hip and leg. He was initially treated at the Bristol Hospital Emergency Room but was later transferred to Saint Frances Hospital for further treatment.

Part of Brewster Street was closed in front of the hospital while police investigated what happened. That road has since reopend.

Police have not identified the man.
