After months of work, it's time for "move in"!

The "Home of Distinction" is finally complete, and tours are ready to begin for prospective buyers.

Around 20 local design experts have come together to make Home of Distinction in Southington a spectacular show home that illustrates modern trends in decorating and building and also simple changes that can update the look and feel of any house.

But it's not just the "show-stopping" basement, stylish furnishings and warm colors that make this home special. Lynx Security Systems and Home Theaters has added its own special touch.

The company that wired the house installed a sophisticated alarm system that includes video of the exteriors and interiors, a central vacuum, surround sound throughout the house, and, the best part, the movie theater!

"What we have is an intricate system but we made it really easy for the end user," explained Jesse Kosko, the owner of Lynx.

It's all operated from a wall unit touch screen, which also controls the lights, thermostat and more.

Tours of the model home, which is not for sale but displays the latest trends in design and building, are available starting September 9: Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and proceeds benefit the Bread for Life, which serves more than 35,000 meals to the hungry each year.
