Missing boy in Granby found after triggering ‘shelter in place’

GRANBY – Police said there was a search for a missing 10-year-old boy in the woods of Granby, but the boy was found.

The child was located unharmed in the wooded area at 1:40 p.m.

The Granby Schools Superintendent’s office said Wells Road Intermediate School at 134 Wells Road is on a “shelter in place.”

The office said that the boy is a 5th grade student at the school.

K9 units from Bloomfield Police, State Police, and the Department of Correction assisted.

The school was placed in a shelter mode by administrators briefly to avoid the dogs being distracted by children on the playground.
