Plainfield teacher charged with sexting student has his day in court
DANIELSON – A former Plainfield High School science teacher accused of inappropriate behavior with a student is due in court Monday.
Ryan Clair, 26, turned himself in last month, according to police.
Police said they started investigating him after somebody told them of an incident between a student and him in April.
Clair used smartphone apps like Snapchat to communicate and send messages of a “sexual nature” to the girl, according to police.
He was initially placed on administrative leave but has since resigned.
He faces a felony charge of risk of injury to a child and a misdemeanor charge of failure to report abuse as a mandated reporter.
