BRIDGEPORT— A Superior Court judge has denied a request seeking to obtain enhanced fingerprints from an Easton man accused of killing his parents and burying their bodies in a friend’s yard.

The Connecticut Post reports Judge Robert Devlin denied the prosecution’s motion Tuesday and continued the case against 28-year-old Kyle Navin to Nov. 1.

Devlin dismissed the request until prosecutors present evidence that items from the crime scene have currently unknown fingerprints on them.

The continuance was granted after defense attorney Eugene Riccio told Devlin that more time was needed for Navin’s psychiatric evaluation.

Police said Navin fatally shot his parents after they threatened to cut him out of their will. Their bodies were found in Weston last October.

Navin pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder in January.
