WILLIMANTIC — State police need the public’s help to solve an art burglary in Willimantic.

Police said Progressive Data Systems at 148 Club Road in Willimantic was burglarized over the weekend and several Apple iMac computers were stolen, as well as several antique clocks, paintings and a number of Christian Seidler artworks.

The Christian Seidler paintings are described as oil on canvas and very unique. They were painted by thousands of raised dabs of oil paint. The series of “dabs” combine to create a textured work of art. Most of the paintings are large, 30×44 inches, and should be easily recognizable, police said.

Anyone who has any information regarding the person or people involved in the burglary, or may know the location of the stolen items, is asked to please contact Eastern District Major Crime detectives at Troop K (860) 465 5400 or call the anonymous tip line at (860) 465 5469.

You can also text TIP711 with the information to 274637. All calls will remain confidential, police said.
