MIDDLETOWN-- The second week of high school football got under way under the Friday night lights.

A lot of the action took place at Palmer Field in Middletown, which was the site of two top 10 ranked teams going at it.

First up, the West Haven Blue Devils got the best of the Xavier Falcons 27-18. Meanwhile, on the other side of town, the Blue Dragons of Middletown were able to handle the Wethersfield Eagles 34-3.

Then on to Berlin, where the Redcoats squared off against Rockville.

The day started in New Haven as the Jesuits of Fairfield Prep easily beat the Governors of Wilbur Cross.
