BLOOMFIELD -The Food Industry Convoy of Caring is Foodshare’s way of saying thank you to  local food industry partners who contribute year-round to the fight against hunger.

More than 70 percent of the food distributed comes directly from companies like Stop & Shop, Freshpoint and Highland Park Market, which enables Foodshare to provide 25 meals for every ten dollars that are donated.

Following a recognition breakfast hosted and sponsored by the Sheraton in Rocky Hill, dozens of trucks will make the 21-mile trek to Foodshare's distribution center in Bloomfield, serving as a visual reminder of "our 137,000 neighbors who are hungry," according to Foodshare.
