NEW LONDON–A crash on Friday evening left several people injured.

A car crashed into two pedestrians on Friday evening near the intersection of Eugene O’Neil Drive and Golden Street. The driver went up on the sidewalk.

One of the pedestrians was pinned underneath the vehicle and to a brick wall, but was removed by emergency personnel after about 10 minutes of work. That person had serious injuries, but was alert and conscious.

The other pedestrian and the driver of the car had minor injuries and were also taken to the hospital.

Police said Saturday that David Porter, 62, of New London was the driver of the vehicle. Brian Roy, 55, of New London, and Kenneth Laffey, 66, of Mystic were the pedestrians who were struck.
