ORANGE – Police arrested a man they said brought samurai sword into an Orange gas station.
Police said that on Friday, September 16, just after 2:30 a.m. Anthony Gray, 24, of West Haven walked into the Cumberland Farms store at 151 Boston Post Road in Orange carrying a samurai sword and asked the clerk for a lighter.
When the clerk said that she did not have one, he took a lighter from a shelf, lit a cigarette, and then threw the lighter at the clerk.
Police said they found him a short distance away, still carrying the sword, and he was arrested.
Gray was charged him with possession of a deadly weapon and second-degree breach of peace.
He was held on $5,000 bail.
