HARTFORD — A man was killed after being shot several times in Hartford’s north end late Saturday night.

Police were alerted to 104 Vine Street and 144 Magnolia Street at approximately 10:30 p.m. for multiple active ShotSpotter notifications detecting gunshots in the area.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Nicholas Brown, 26, on the ground in front of 160 Magnolia Street, just a short distance away from the tagged gunshot locations. He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds throughout his body, police said.

EMTs rushed the victim to St. Francis Hospital, but life-saving procedures were unsuccessful. He was subsequently pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries.

The city’s Crime Scene and Major Crimes divisions assumed control of the investigation. Anyone with information should contact Detective Dan Richter with the Hartford Police Department.
