WESTPORT — A Pennsylvania man is accused of breaking into a woman’s home and sexually assaulting her.

Westport police responded to the Hales Court  home at about 12:30 a.m. Monday. The woman told police she woke up to 22-year-old Charles Ayala, of Upper Darby, walking toward her and unbuckling his pants.

Police said Ayala and the woman’s son were partying at the woman’s home the previous evening. Ayala left, but he later returned, entered the home and went into the woman’s bedroom while she was sleeping.

Police said the woman pushed Ayala and ran downstairs, but Ayala followed her and assaulted her as she grabbed her coat and phone. The woman fled to a neighbor’s home.

Ayala is charged with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree sexual assault, second-degree unlawful restraint and creating a public disturbance.

He’s being held on $25,000 bail. It’s unclear whether he has a lawyer.
