Police: Pick-up truck driver became lodged in wires before slamming into Branford building
BRANFORD — A Branford business is cleaning up Tuesday morning after a pick-up truck slammed into it Monday evening.
Branford police and fire officials were called to 317 East Main Street around 8:15 p.m. Monday. That address is home to The Cork Shop – Beer, Wine, and Spirits.
The driver of the truck was in the parking lot when she backed into some telephone pole guide wire and got stuck, police said. As she tried to unlodge the truck, she accelerate forward and slammed into the building. There was significant damage to both the building and the truck.
Luckily, no one was injured during the crash. No word yet if any charges will be filed against the driver.
