SHARON — A wanted man barricaded himself in his Sharon home Tuesday and refused to surrender to police. But Wednesday morning, State Police Trooper Kelly Grant said the suspect was no longer in the home.

“The investigation continues as troopers determine his location,” Trooper Grant said.

Connecticut State Police remained on the scene at West Meadow Road for about 18 hours.

Around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, police tried to serve an arrest warrant to a suspect at the home, following an incident that happened Monday night. Police said the suspect fled from them and at the time, was believed to be in his house, refusing to surrender. State troopers, state police K-9 teams and the state police tactical team maintained the scene.

There is no threat to the community at this time, according to police.
