HARTFORD — Google is expanding its Google Express service to a large portion of the east coast, including Connecticut, the company announced Wednesday. Google Express teams up with stores that wouldn’t normally deliver to offer you two-day delivery shipping. Costco, Whole Foods Market, Kohl’s, and Petsmart are included in the program.

Google touts the system as an easy way to help people get the items they use every day. Some have compared it to Amazon’s Dash program, where you add buttons to your home to quickly order household items.

“Our goal with Google Express is to offer a great shopping experience and connect people with their favorite stores,” said Brian Elliott, General Manager of Google Express. “Today, we’re very excited to be further expanding our efforts — making it easy for millions in Connecticut to get things they need from stores they love — delivered fast.”

Starting on September 28, shoppers in Connecticut will have two options to receive delivery from local retailers through Google Express:

  • Membership for $95/ year
  • Pay-as-you-go: as low as $4.99 per order
