SHELTON — A high school student who was found dead Thursday night was remembered by his classmates and teachers.

Shelton School Superintendent Chris Clouet said in a statement on the school system’s website, “With deep sorrow I must communicate to the community that a well-liked student at SHS, Jonathan Sabo, passed away last night. His untimely death is a family tragedy first and foremost, and it is a shock to his friends and the entire school community –as well as all of Shelton. We need to support the Sabo family and all of our students at this most difficult time.”

The school was offering counseling services for students.

Around 9:45 p.m. Thursday, Shelton Police were called to the area of Booth Hill Road for a missing juvenile complaint. Officers found the 15 year old, later identified as Sabo, deceased in a wooded area nearby. Police said the death is still under investigation but detectives do not suspect foul play.
