OLD SAYBROOK --People got up early on Sunday to help out a charity that gives kids their wheels.

Bikers took off about 7:40 a.m. to help the Bikes For Kids Charity Ride. FOX 61's Sarah Cody was the MC.

Participants took part in three different rides to support the organization founded on a simple mission, that every child deserves a bike.  There was a five mile family ride, or rides of 27 miles or 63 miles.  The rides went through  Old Saybrook, Deep River, Essex, Chester, Haddam, Clinton, Westbrook, and Killingworth.image2

To date, the group has collected, refurbished and donated more than 19, 000 bikes.
