GROTON -- Police were looking for two suspects who they think were involved in shooting outside a restaurant that seriously injured a teen Sunday afternoon.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of the 99 Restaurant, on 117 Long Hill Road in Groton around 5 pm. The restaurant is located just off the exit for I-95 and Route  12 at Long Hill Road and Kings Highway.

Police said a man in his teens was injured in the shooting. He was taken initially to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital and then flown to Yale-New Haven Hospital, according to police.

Police are looking for two male suspects who ran from the scene in the parking lot. Officers used canine units but could not find a suspect. Police said this was an isolated incident and the shooting was not random.

The New London states attorney's office is working with Groton City Police and Groton Town Police in the investigation.

Patrons at the restaurant called the incident in. People were kept inside the building at first but were eventually allowed to leave.
