Hartford Police: 3 arrested, 3 stores closed after bodegas busted for selling pills

HARTFORD — Three people are facing serious charges after police in Hartford said they were illegally selling prescription pills from their bodegas in the city’s South End.

On Tuesday, October 4,  detectives from the Vice and Narcotics Units along with Hartford police conducted multiple search warrants at the businesses. Police said they received information that Los Cubanitos Market (206 Park Street), Salcedo Grocery (1022 Broad Street), and Jordi Grocery (1053 Capitol Avenue) were selling prescription pills during their normal hours of operation.

Detectives seized 647 prescription pills and $1,743 in cash.

Three people were charged in the case. All three of the bodegas are now shut down until further notice.
