SIMSBURY -- The state's largest domestic violence organization, The Interval House, hosted a special ceremony Friday morning in Simsbury.

It honored the former executive director of the interval house, Cecile Enrico.

She is one of the women who founded interval house in the 1970's, after surviving domestic violence herself.

Enrico was praised for more than 40 years of advocacy, where she not only helped countless women and families, but also pushed for groundbreaking legislation to protect victims.
