NEW LONDON — A Norwich man was arrested Thursday in connection with a decade old murder case. A father of five was found dead in a field in Ledyard nearly 11 years ago

Timothy P. Johnson, 32, of Norwich turned himself in and was arrested on felony murder charges in the death of Anthony Hamlin whose body was found in Ledyard on January 28, 2006. Hamlin of Groton was a member of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation.

He had traveled to Connecticut from Virginia and was last seen two days earlier at the New London train station. Hamlin’s beaten body was found in the area of 428 Shewville Rd. Ledyard.

Investigators had been searching for information on the case and the Governor’s office offered a $25,000 reward in 2011 for information leading to an arrest.

State police said recently developed information leading them to Johnson. He turned himself in to Montville State Police barracks on Thursday. He was held on $1 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
