South Carolina school shooting: 2 children, 1 teacher wounded

TOWNVILLE, SC — Prosecutors want the 14-year-old boy accused of killing his father and fatally shooting a 6-year-old boy at a South Carolina elementary school to be tried as an adult.

Solicitor Chrissy Adams said in a news release Thursday that she is seeking to transfer the teen from family court to circuit court. She has charged the teen with two counts of murder, three counts of attempted murder and five counts of possessing a weapon during a violent crime.

Family court will set a hearing on Adams’ request.

Authorities say a 14-year-old boy killed his father before driving to the school Sept. 28.

Bullets struck Jacob, a classmate and his first-grade teacher. Jacob died Saturday. The other two were treated and released on the day of the shooting.
